A-Frame Signs and Handheld Signs
All signs require a permit or Planning Department approval. My Signs were Removed by the City, how can I get Them Back?
Signs may be returned if they are picked-up within a week. A fine will be accessed for each sign, flag and/or display. Signs not recovered within a week will be destroyed. I have a Question Regarding Unpermitted Construction.

All construction, building modifications, alterations or additions require a building permit. If you suspect that unpermitted construction work is being conducted, please call the Building Department at (562) 868-0511 or use our Online Service Request system.

Illegal Dumping

Illegal dumping has become a bigger problem and it is the victimized property owner’s responsibility to properly dispose of the dumped items – even if it was not their trash.

To avoid illegal dumping, provide proper lighting around your building. Installation of video cameras also deters illegal dumping. Don’t allow employees or friends to dispose of trash in your trash bin. Report suspicious activity immediately, even if it’s on your neighbor’s property – you may be next.

If you have any questions regarding illegal dumping, please call (562) 868-0511.

Mobile Car Wash and Detailing

Mobile car washing and detailing is a great benefit to all of us, especially if the detailer uses a water-less system. However, mobile car washers and detailers are required to obtain and carry a business license with the City of Santa Fe Springs. They are also required to use a pool system and/or a containment process to prevent water or soap from entering the storm drain.

If you are approached by a mobile car washer/detailer, please ask to see a City business license and I.D. We recommend you make copies of these items before handing over your car keys.

Street Vendors/Ice Cream Vendors
All street vendors are required to obtain a Regulatory Permit through the Police Services Center. We encourage you not to purchase items from street vendors unless they are displaying a sticker issued by the City of Santa Fe Springs. For additional information and/or to report illegal street vendors, please contact the Police Services Center at (562) 409-1850.
