On March 19th, 2020 California Governor Gavin Newsom and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health issued orders requiring all residents to remain at their residences except for certain permissible activities.  Among the permissible activities is continuing to work where it is considered an Essential Business.  Certain City of Santa Fe Springs government operations are considered an Essential Business.

All City staff are instructed to remain available for work during their normally scheduled work hours and await further instructions from their supervisors.  Adjustments to normal operations are being made to minimize the number of staff required at City facilities at any one time, including: 1) arranging for employees to work remotely where possible, 2) staggering scheduling of employees to minimize the number of employees on-site concurrently, and 3) temporarily eliminating non-essential functions until the orders are modified.  Staff will be contacted by their supervisors with specific instructions for their position.

Employees working at City facilities must follow infection control precautions including social distancing and frequent hand washing.  The City’s janitorial contractor will also continue servicing City facilities during this period.

The City of Santa Fe Springs will continue to provide the public with the information and resources which are in need during this period of emergency.  The City of Santa Fe Springs thanks its employees and appreciates their patience and understanding as we all work through this period together.
