BE COUNTED!! SANTA FE SPRINGS

Santa Fe Springs Residents: Are you counted? The decennial census has been conducted every 10 years since 1790, and Census 2020 is here!

The census can shape many different aspects of your community. The results will not only determine our representation in Congress and redistricting at all levels of government, but also determine how over $675 billion is spent every year on education, healthcare, housing, transportation, and other vital programs. For example, census data helps drive funding for programs like Medi-Cal, Title 1 grants, Special Education grants, SNAP (food stamps), Head Start, the repair and construction of highways, bridges, roads, and more!

In Santa Fe Springs, we want everyone to know that everybody belongs and everybody counts. To help ensure that our city has a complete, fair and accurate count in 2020, we have formed a Complete Count Committee that will be working closely with the Census Bureau on a strategic and concerted effort to engage, educate, and encourage each and every community member to participate in the upcoming census.

We won’t get an accurate count in 2020 unless everyone participates!! BE COUNTED…help us ensure that the City does not lose millions of dollars in potential federal funds over the next decade simply by filling out your census questionnaires. The 2020 census is easier than ever to complete. It only takes a a few minutes to submit your responses online at my2020census.gov. Make sure you are prepared to complete the census in one sitting. Unfortunately, the system does not allow you to save your progress. Call our census phone line if you have any questions: (562) 409-7629
