Jay Sarno, Mayor Pro Tem

Jay Sarno is serving his second term on the City Council. Mayor Pro Tem Sarno was first elected to the Council in 2013 and served his first term through 2018. He was appointed to Mayor in 2018. Jay has lived in Santa Fe Springs since 1973. He attended the local schools of Lakeview Elementary, Lake Center Middle School and graduated from Santa Fe High School. Mayor Pro Tem Sarno is the owner of C J Concrete Construction; a family-run Santa Fe Springs-based construction company, which he has run for the past 18 years.

Mayor Pro Tem Sarno has been actively supportive of local schools and sports programs in the community. During his first term on the Council, he served as delegate to Gateway Cities Council of Governments and League of California Cities. Councilmember Sarno is happily married to his wife Christina and enjoys raising their two children in the City.
