Early Learning with Families

The California State Library launched the Early Learning with Families initiative in 2006. Its purpose is to help further strengthen public libraries in their important role as community centers helping families, caregivers and childcare providers acquire the resources and skills necessary to support the healthy development of very young children.

Playing and Learning

A child’s job is to play. This is how they discover, experiment, explore and learn the essentials of navigating their world and develop the self-confidence to do it.
