ALDI is a supermarket chain that was founded in Germany in 1961 by the Albrecht family. The first U.S. store was established in Iowa during the 1970's and has growing at a steady pace in the U.S. for nearly 40 years. ALDI obtained approval by the Planning Commission for Development Plan Approval Case No. 910 to construct a ±18,557 sq. ft. grocery store building and appurtenant improvements on 1.94 acre of a 3.94 acre property located at 13210 Telegraph Road.
Azar Event Center
Azar Event Center offers full service events for cooperate meetings, school events, birthday celebrations, rehearsal dinners, weddings, and other social events. The Planning Commission granted approval for Conditional Use Permit Case No. 770 to allow for an indoor banquet hall facility within a 7,202 sq. ft. single story building. The address for the banquet hall is 12215 Slauson Avenue.
Salt and Pepper Restaurant & Sports Bar
Salt and Pepper is adding 3,200 sq. ft. to the west side of the existing 7,710 sq. ft. building located at 13325 Telegraph Road. In addition to adding a new restaurant to the City, Salt and Pepper obtained approval by the Planning Commission for Alcohol Sales Conditional Use Permit Case No. 66 to allow the sales and storage of alcoholic beverages for on-site consumption.
Carmenita Plaza LLC
Carmenita Plaza is a shopping center located on the corner of Carmenita Road and Telegraph Road. The Planning Commission granted approval for Development Plan Approval Case No. 900 to demolish the existing building in Carmenita Plaza at around 12,055 square feet in order to construct a new building, in the same pad, at around 13,885 square feet. The new building will have a Starbucks with a drive-thru, which will be around 2,240 square feet. The additional space around 11,645 square feet will consist of retail and restaurant spaces. In addition, the new building will be accompanied with a trellis patio around 2,158 square feet.
Bank of America
Bank of America obtained approval by the Planning Commission for Conditional Use Permit Case No. 308-9 to apply an exterior façade to an exiting ±8,609 sq. ft. building located within the Carmenita Plaza. The property address for this site is 13415 Carmenita Road.
76 Gas Station
76 Gas Station gained approval of Development Plan Approval Case No. 882 for construction of a new gas station and convenience market. The land area is 21,344 square feet and the building is 2,024 square feet. The property's address is 11651 Telegraph Road.
PIH Health is a non-profit, regional healthcare network with locations in Downey and Whittier, California. PIH Health obtained approval by The Planning Commission for Development Plan Approval Case No. 881 to construct a medical office at approximately 35,076 square feet. In addition, the 3-story medical office will have a metal exterior. The address will be at 12400 Bloomfield Avenue.
El Pollo Loco
El Pollo Loco obtained approval by the Planning Commission for Conditional Use Permit Case No. 308-10 to apply an exterior façade to an exiting ±2,765 sq. ft. building located within the Carmenita Plaza. The property address for this site is 10100 Carmenita Road.
The Planning Commission accepted Development Plan Approval Case No. 890 and Conditional Use Permit Case No. 760 for a 2,400 square foot multi-tenant pad building to proceed into a single-tenant with the addition of a 105 square foot drive-thru window and drive-thru lane. The property is located at 7930 Norwalk Boulevard and located within the C-4, Community Commercial, Zone.
