'YOUR FUTURE IS KEY, SO STAY DRUG FREE'
October 23-31

Red Ribbon Week is the nation's oldest and largest drug-prevention campaign in the country, reaching
millions of Americans every year.  During the annual campaign, the Department of Police Services
promotes drug awareness by emphasizing the negative effects caused by drug use in an effort to combat
an increasing use among students.

Red Ribbon Week activities include school assemblies, a Red Ribbon Parade, and visits by Deputy McGruff -
the crime fighting dog at Santa Fe Springs schools.  The National Red Ribbon theme for 2017 is
'YOUR FUTURE IS KEY, SO STAY DRUG FREE'
